Students at BTAH have been learning about the pathways available after Year 11 during Tutor time and this week, the Year 11’s got to experience what college life is like with a VIP tour.
Students had a briefing session from the college Careers Advisers, followed by a visit each of the vocational areas and the chance to chat to staff and students about the different courses. This opportunity is part of the Careers Programme which is designed to explain the options for Post 16 and start our Year 11 students on their journey into their next steps.
Students have been watching videos about Post 16 options then taking part in a quiz to check their learning.
We had the opportunity to view the brickwork, carpentry and plumbing workshops and even checked out the quality of the college students’ work in the bathroom workshop!
Students were also able to see the Hair and Beauty salon and even try out the gym. It was a busy morning but we all agreed that college is interesting.
