Online Safety

At BTA Alternative Provision, we are committed to helping pupils use technology safely, responsibly, and confidently.

Online safety is taught throughout our curriculum, enabling pupils to understand online risks, protect personal information, and make safe choices when using the internet, digital devices, and social media. All school devices are configured and managed by our Trust's IT team and are allocated to individual pupils. This helps ensure devices are used safely and responsibly while supporting effective safeguarding and monitoring.

We use Smoothwall filtering and monitoring systems to help keep pupils safe online by restricting access to inappropriate content and monitoring internet activity during the school day. Through a combination of education, secure technology, and robust safeguarding procedures, we support pupils to become safe and responsible digital citizens both in school and beyond.
